Adding sub-goals to seemingly vague or overwhelming tasks could play to your strengths by helping you structure a difficult project and giving you more manageable sub-tasks to complete. Avoid vague directives or instructions and try to clarify your role and deliverables so you can be as specific as possible about expectations in terms of a timeline and outcomes.

When working within a team, compromising on a later deadline for your contribution will allow you a sense of order, while giving your room for error and to reach the end goal more on your terms. Setting incremental sub-deadlines to help you stay on task can also help. Try to avoid vague directives or instructions, the structure is still necessary, but some autonomy in terms of how and when you complete your work and meet your goals will allow a good balance.

Scheduling your projects and tasks throughout the day can give you a better idea of when tasks will be complete and provide your team with the reassurance that you will meet your goals and increase the perception of reliability. This will also allow you autonomy in terms of how and when you complete your work.
