Although your preference for consistency may result in others seeing you as highly reliable in terms of productivity, punctuality etc., opening up yourself to the positive benefits of certain changes or challenges could increase your flexibility and stress tolerance. When facing change that you see as unnecessary or negative, consider writing a pros and cons list to re-frame your perspective. Then it will not be based on your general preference for consistency, but the actual impact of the specific change. If changes are communicated in advance allowing time to prepare, you can combat your hesitation and aversion to change.
