Charismatic leadership is a modern construct, one that allows the leader to use charm to receive the admiration of their employees.

By showing concern for their employees and looking after their needs, charismatic leaders are able to encourage particular behaviors. The use of eloquent communication, persuasion and their personality to motivate employees to get things done, or to improve the way they do their roles.

Though outwardly similar to a supportive leader, a supportive leader is defined by genuine concern for others, whereas self-orientation is a key component of charismatic leadership. They are perfect in PR roles for organizations and political parties.
