How to instill loyalty and commitment to organisational goals

Loyalty
Enhance your career
Professional values

A loyal person is always true and faithful to their ideals and to other people. It can be portrayed as devotion or faith and comes from the heart. It is often attributed to stability in relationships, personal and at work.

Being faithful to promises, engagements, obligations and people is loyalty personified, this is influenced by honesty and trustworthy behaviour. It is the ability to put others first, to stick with them and support them through good times and bad. Hence there is often loyalty displayed with family, friends, and significant others.

In the workplace, loyalty can be associated with success as an individual or as an organisation. Learning to do the task to the best of ability, indicates a level of devotion to the role. If employees believe in the vision or an inspirational CEO then this can perpetuate organisational loyalty. Employees who feel loyalty, remain with an organisation, reducing attrition and do not actively seek other employment opportunities.
